Salita G Series portfolios – Monthly performance and market update for July 2026

July was a month of market rotation rather than broad market weakness, as investors again shifted away from crowded AI and technology exposures and towards more traditional sectors. Australian shares were among the strongest developed markets, supported by financials and energy, while higher bond yields created headwinds for fixed income markets.

Oil surged as Middle East tensions escalated, infrastructure benefited from its defensive characteristics, and global property continued its recovery despite rising yields.

This serves as a reminder that market leadership rarely remains concentrated in a single sector forever. Even when long-term themes such as artificial intelligence remain compelling, periods of profit-taking and changing economic conditions can see investors rotate into areas of the market that offer more attractive valuations or are better positioned for the current environment.
